2014 Sacredtree Single Vineyard McLaren Vale Shiraz
2014 Kangarilla Road The Devil's Whiskers' McLaren Vale Shiraz
We've sold the last few vintages of the Sacredtree Single Vineyard Shiraz and for anyone who has had it before, you'll know that this is a heroic wine.
Made by renowned McLaren Vale winemaker Mike Brown of Gemtree Wines, the Sacredtree Single Vineyard Shiraz comes off a plot of certified organic old vines in the heart of the Vale.
That magical plot is also the source for one of the most serious Shiraz wines in the Vale, and the Sacredtree Single Vineyard Shiraz is just as beastly as that icon of a wine. An epic red in anyone's language.
Shiraz fans, you need to stock up on this. We're talking the pointy end of rich Aussie red wine, from a special patch of McLaren Vale vines, and made by an astute and acclaimed winemaker.100
Colour: Dense black.
Nose: There are complex oak notes on the nose, savoury dark berries, and boysenberries with a touch of jam. Underlying this are hints of earthiness, mushrooms, giving it great complexity.
Palate: The palate is rich and lively with good weight, showing lovely creaminess and structure. The fruit sweetness runs from the front palate through to the back, showing great length. This wine is well balanced with a long cellaring potential of 6 to 10 years.
Food pairing: Pair with rib-eye steak and soft goats cheese.

A gloriously styled Shiraz, the impressively fragrant bouquet shows dark fruit, cake spice, vanilla, roasted beetroot and mint chocolate characters. The palate is superbly concentrated and lavishly textured, delivering awesome power and intensity, wonderfully supported by velvety texture and silky tannins. Magnificent, sophisticated and irresistibly attractive.
